So it turns out (because I made my giving page before I posted about it, I thought we were supposed to start on the 10th…), that a bunch of my projects were filled. But worry not! I have picked up a bunch more, in particular projects for things like microscopes and model skeletons, and one for 60 copies of the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, so that kids can learn about the wonderful impact of this woman and her cells.
And I’ll be honest. Much as I LOVE a good competition (and I do), I really don’t care if you give through Sci’s page, as long as you DO give to these classrooms in need. Sci is but a small fish in this challenge, but I hope that some of you will consider giving to these needy classrooms (some of them need paper and pencils!!!), whether you give through Sci’s page or not. Whether or not these kids ever actually go into math or science careers, helping them understand math and science will make them realize the impact and importance of what scientists do. So let’s get these kids some microscopes, some books, and some freakin’ PAPER.
