Pumpkin toadlets are tiny, neon-orange frogs (extra fact: All toads are frogs! Not all frogs are toads.) that live in the cloud forests of Brazil. They make a soft little chirp like a cricket. But if they’re using that little noise to find love, they’d better change it up. These frogs are completely deaf to the sound of their own calls. Why do they do it? Well…scientists don’t know yet. But don’t mistake these pumpkin toadlets for pumpkin spice. Tiny call or not, that orange coloring gives it away. These frogs are poisonous as all heck. Find out more in my weekly NEWSLETTER.
